This blog is about my garden and the outdoors. I am new to photography but I am trying to show some of the pretty things that grow here in Michigan. I love the wild things who visit me and I dont mind if they eat a bit here and there. I like it more if they let me take their picture. As time goes on I think I will try to show you around the beautiful area that I live in as well as my garden. I try to use my own pictures as much as possible but will also use pictures from the web. If I inadvertently use your photo or work without permission please email me and I will remove it or give credit if you prefer. I will give credit when I know who the owner is. I would ask that anyone using my pictures do the same.

A Walk in the Woods in March..............

Today we went for a short walk in the woods. It was 85 degrees. At the trail head was a pile of snow from the parking lot. Strange weather. This is July weather for Michigan, not March. We were hot!!!!I took my camera but there was not a lot going on. The leaves are barely budding so not a lot of shade. The streams are a trickle rather than the bubbling brooks that there were the last time we were there.S till it was great just to be outside in fresh air. Two weeks ago we had the biggest storm in memory. Trees down all over and still sitting awaiting pick up by the side of the roads. We had just left the Cedar swamp area when we heard a big crack and the crashing of branches coming down..........so its not really safe out there just yet. Next time we will stay on the well used paths instead of going back into the woods so far.

Husband Gerry, Daughter Laura (Grandma to Tristen) Tristen (my great grandson) and me.............nice walk in March. Can't be better than that. Think we may pay for it later but hey, I am not in control of the weather so I will enjoy it where I can.
